Portage County Can Announces New Website

Stevens Point, Wisc., August 2017 —Portage County Can (PC CAN) has launched a new interactive website to promote health and wellness programs in Portage County.

“This new website has been a phenomenal collaboration between PC CAN, our programs, and UWSP students, ” said PC CAN Communication Director Kelly Hammond, “The student interns developed our new website independently, by using skills they learned in class and researching where there were gaps. The end result is remarkable and will be a tremendous service to our community.”

For the Portage County Community, this website provides information on local health organizations including the Portage County Breastfeeding Coalition, Fruit and Veggie WORKS, the Turkey Trot, the Activity Workgroup and the Central Wisconsin Worksite Wellness Program. These programs offer a wide variety of services to community members, from breastfeeding support to local foods in the classroom. There is also a calendar of local events, resources for preparing healthy meals, and opportunities to become a sustaining member with PC CAN.

PC CAN builds networks and resources to foster active living and healthy eating behaviors in Portage County. Our vision is to engage Portage County in being the healthiest community in the state. Visit www.portagecountycan.org for more information.
