"The Right to Wind in Your Hair"
Cycling Without Age Portage County is a non-profit volunteer-run program that takes older adults and adults with differing abilities on free bicycle rides in a trishaw. Providing trishaw rides is really about connecting people—passengers, pilots, and the public—with each other. We give seniors the opportunity to experience nature close up and share their stories while riding through neighborhood streets, bike paths, and along the Green Circle Trail.
The Portage County Cycling without Age chapter is part of a worldwide movement to connect older adults to cycling, the outdoors and the community. Learn about the history of Cycling Without Age.
Become a Cycling Without Age Volunteer Pilot
If you are at least 16 years of age and enjoy pedaling a bicycle slowly, consider becoming a Cycling Without Age Pilot and help spread happiness among nursing home and assisted living residents in the Portage County area. Trishaw pilots must complete an orientation/training session presented by a Wisconsin Bicycle Federation trained instructor.
